Dec. 27th, 2009 @ 04:03 pm He asked me to bite it
So Christmas night I'm hooking up with this really hot guy who I was excited that he was into me in return, since I had my eye on him for awhile. We had both been drinking. We were just kissing and touching since I wasn't ready to sleep with him yet. But I was kissing his chest and stomach and coming into contact with his penis but not putting it in my mouth. You know, just playing around.

And then he asked me to bite it... what? lmao

I don't mean to be a 12 year old about it but it was something NO guy had ever said to me... I was always under the impression that teeth near the penis was always a bad idea. So, um, I bit him! lol! I guess he was kinda into it? For some reason now that I do not remember, I also ended up slapping him across the face, playfully but kind of hard nonetheless (I am coming to realize when I'm hooking up drunk I'm like 50% more likely to slap a guy in the face) and in return he got on top of me and wrapped his fingers around my neck as though he was going to choke me.

Look, I'm pretty vanilla in sex, I don't need excessive position switching or anything kinky to have a great time. So if this is a taste (no pun intended) of what I should expect from this guy should we ever do it, I'm guessing it's going to be... different.

Please give me any comments you have about this.

And also, has a guy ever wanted you to bite it? lol

Not sure if anyone remembers me, but I've been having problems with sex for the past 2 years. It never wanted to work and caused me immense amounts of pain whenever I'd try. I researched and was considering vaginismus or something similar, but my gyno told me I was just "tighter" than a lot of people and I should try to get myself used to something by using..candles.

Anyway, I don't know how it happened, but it's working. One night my boyfriend wanted to try again, so we did, and after an initial amount of pain, it worked. For the first time in 2 years, he was able to get all the way inside me. Of course, it left me sore and hurting a bit because I wasn't used to it at all, but we've had sex ~10 other times since then and it's getting better. Last night I only had a tiny bit of pain at the initial penetration and everything else was perfect.

So woo, I'm not broken. I do have a question though--we've tried it in a few different positions, and my g-spot has been stimulated *too much* in every position we've tried besides missionary. I couldn't stand being on top (which I really was eager to try) because of how it was hitting my g-spot. It was wayyyy too sensitive. Is that normal..? Anyone else experience that? Are there positions (for beginners!) that we can try that might be a little more comfortable for me, for now?

Dec. 27th, 2009 @ 05:34 am iud with fam?
I was wondering if anybody here has an IUD? I am aware there are copper ones as well as hormonal ones. I feel strange putting metal into my body.. but I am 100% against hormonal birth control ever since I have been on the pill. How do the hormonal IUDs work? Do they prevent ovulation?

I'm interested in other forms of non hormonal birth control I can combine with my FAM to be more effective. My significant other wants to basically have sex every day/every other day so abstaining for my fertile period is a no go.. and I'm allergic to latex and we don't feel like wasting money on more expensive alternative condoms. Plus, he doesn't like using them anyway. For the past 6 months we have successfully used FAM with withdrawal but I'd rather use something more reliable than withdrawal.

Also.. I should add that I am only 20 and never been pregnant. Would they even let me get an IUD?

Dec. 26th, 2009 @ 11:04 pm Swollen Labia!
Current Mood: sore
Ok so I recently started nuva ring, this is my 2nd week, and me and my boyfriend decided to have sex with it for the first time. After having sex I felt a slight burning so i went to the bathroom checked it out and i realised that my left labia was red swollen and extremely tender! I put ice on it but it did nothing for the swelling, although it did take some of the pain away. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? (i read it could be from roughness but this does not seem likely) Does it have anything t do with the nuvaring? How can i get the swelling to go down? Please help! Thanks!

Dec. 26th, 2009 @ 07:52 pm my vag is full of goo, nuvaring review?
Last month I went off my birth control. Long story short, it was YAZ and I was sick of it dicking around & not working.

I've had sex a few times with my partner, but we always, always used a condom.

My question is, I'm noticing that my discharge is a lot more, for a lack of a better word "gooey" than before. Does this mean anything?

I'm also switching to NuvaRing. Is there anything I really need to be made aware of? (I'm thinking my gynecologist isn't as great as I thought: she said endrometrosis isn't genetic, but a post here just told me otherwise)

I did read the packaging, but I'm looking for, ah, user reviews.

so i'm completely clueless and definitely skeptical about this whole idea BUT:

has anyone tried to use shepherd's purse to stop spotting between periods and if so does it work? is it dangerous? does it decrease the effectiveness of birth control? if it's safe, useful and doesn't interfere with bc, how much do you take and how long does it take to work?

i never use herbs or anything, so it's hard to sift through all the google mumbo jumbo that pops up and i'm a little weirded out by everything.

My 8 year old niece just developed one small breast, for Christmas my mother bought her some training bras. She seems to be fascinated with it and even lifts her shirt up to touch it

I feel sad; shes growing up. I don't know if its normal to feel this way. It seems like yesterday she was a year old and we were potty training her.

Dec. 26th, 2009 @ 12:59 am brown discharge in place of period?
So, this probably the same old hum-drum, and I've looked through the tags and such, but found nothing precisely like what I was looking for, so here I am!

I am 23, sexually active with my fiance but we have a very lazy sex life (read: once a week or less, less lately, more like 2 times a month) and I am not on BC. We have been dutifully using the same brand of condoms for as many years as we have been together, he with no previous partners, me with one long before him.

My cycle is usually on the long end, around 31-32 days, with a 6+ day period. My last one started on the 3rd of November and lasted 10 days, including a day or two of spotting in the estimate. The one before that was equally long. I tend to spot for a few days before and after as well to make up around 12 days or so, which is sort of miserable. I usually have a fair amount of normal discharge regularly. My period likes to "migrate" throughout the year, coming a day or three later every month until eventually it works its way from the beginning of the month to the end after several months. I chart my period on mymonthlycycles.com, which estimated that my period would be on December 3.

Dec. 26th, 2009 @ 12:24 am Experience with Planned Parenthood in Toronto
The holidays are a wonderful time of year, aren't they? Family getting together, magic in the air...little cousins telling you they've lost their virginity and have already had a condom break in 4 times of having sex. (wait, what?)

So, today I saw my little cousin (well, I suppose she's not so little anymore...) and she told me she had lost her virginity and I asked her if she would like to go to a clinic and get a secondary form of contraception or just to talk to a doctor about sexual health etc. She said yes. Herein lies my question:

What have all your personal experiences been with the Planned Parenthood in Toronto (I think there is only one)? She lives in Toronto and this would be the ideal clinic to take her to (based on reputation and location), but I am not familiar with it. She's 15 (nearly 16) and although I wouldn't say she's shy, I would definitely say that she is not the most comfortable talking to adults about this sort of thing. Would you say that this particular clinic provides a comfortable environment? If you've been to this clinic as a young teen, did you feel confident that you were not being judged on your age?

There are a few other clinics I'm sort-of familiar with in Toronto, but if anyone could give me recommendations for clinics you've gone to & loved, it would be great! We really do need a place that will allow for reduced-cost contraception, too.

The second question is about this condom mishap. She said that he was able to pull out and judging by where she was in her cycle, I don't THINK she had ovulated yet/was close enough to ovulating, but I'm still pretty worried. Unfortunately this happened a week ago-- if she'd told me the day of/day after I would have just got her to take plan B. In any case, I just told her to drink some parsley tea and not worry about it, because then she'd stress and her period would be late. Is this the best advice? I didn't really know what else to say because, well...I've never had pregnancy scares (there have been times when I've wondered, but it's never been a "scare" or a worry...). I personally think it's best to wait & make this appointment at the clinic for January, when enough time has passed that we can do a pregnancy test AND talk about birth control at the same time. At the same time, I'm worried that she could have another mishap before she can get a secondary form of contraception. Thoughts? Note-- I'm seeing her on the 29th and I WILL be having a demonstration as to how one should properly use a condom-- just to make sure.

My third question is, does payment for PP in Ontario count under OHIP? All the clinics I've gone to have been covered by OHIP but I've never been to PP and I was wondering if it's different.

Thank you so much, VP!

(ps: I feel so old [though I'm certainly not!] that I'm the one imparting all my sexual related wisdom upon a newcomer to the world of intercourse...wisdom which I surely would not have without you, VP! <3)

Dec. 26th, 2009 @ 12:14 am took plan b...21 days later had light bleeding, was this my period?

 Hi Everyone!

I just joined the community and its amazing how much useful info can be found here.

Here is my question:

On Nov 23, my bf and I had unprotected sex and used the withdrawal method (I know very STUPID) so I panicked and I took plan b 3 hours later. I experienced light bleeding 4 days later that only lasted 3-4 days. I should also mention that i had just finished my period that morning. Anyways, so exactly 21 days later I had some very light bleeding, it only lasted about a day and a half. Was that my period? or should I still be waiting for my "real" period to come?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Dec. 25th, 2009 @ 11:02 pm cervical bleeding/difficulty with tampons
About two weeks ago I experienced a little bit of bleeding after sex, and thought it might be related to my cervix. I didn't stress too much over it.

Today I started my period and it was very difficult to insert a tampon both times I tried over the course of the day. Usually it's not difficult to insert a tampon right at the start of my cycle, and even when it is I always find an angle that works. It's making me worry that maybe there's a problem with my cervix.

Any ideas? Should I try to see my gynecologist before I go back to school at the end of January or do you think I am overreacting and I can wait until my yearly check up in the summer to tell him about this?

Hey everyone!

Just wondering if it's normal to have a super light period for no discernible reason? I got my period yesterday, it normally starts with lots of red blood but this time was brown and just a little bit, so I thought, I guess it'll start properly tomorrow. It didn't and all I've had is a tiny little bit of brown blood. I'm definitely not pregnant.

Dec. 25th, 2009 @ 12:07 pm inexpensive beard trimmer
Hello Ladies!

I am looking to find an inexpensive but reliable beard trimmer, for my lady garden hair. I want to keep it short without having to shave, and I've heard that beard trimmers are great. The trouble is, everytime I go to a drug store they either don't have any OR they're $50+.

Are there any good trimmers that can be found in Canadian stores (like Shoppers, etc) for under $50? Also, could you recommend me some brands you like, regardless of price?

Thanks so much!

Dec. 25th, 2009 @ 07:40 am worried..
I'm starting to get a little worried.

I started my period on the 19th or 20th day of November. I'm not sure which day it started. But it lasted until the 24th. That's normal.

According to an ovulation tracker I found on the internet, at

http://www.babycenter.com/ovulation-calculator?sub=true&month=10&day=20&year=2009&cycleLength=28&x=75&y=2

it said the best time to get pregnant was anywhere from Dec 1 to Dec 6th. So, I'm assuming I was ovulating during this time. My boyfriend and I had sex on Dec 6th, early in the morning. He told me that the condom busted and wasn't sure if he did or didn't come inside me.

This caused us to both worry and we decided to use Plan B One Step, only four hours after our unprotected sex.

My period was supposed to arrive around December 20th, I suppose since that was when I had my period the previous month. But it hasn't come.

I have been experiencing cramping since the 16th and usually I cramp for a week or two and then my period comes.

My questions:

If the condom busted, then where is the other half of the condom? Is it possible it is still inside me?

How come I have not received my period? Although I have taken Plan B, is it very likely for me to become pregnant?

Dec. 25th, 2009 @ 01:10 am PMS, chocolate and period dreams!
Hello all,

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday season! To celebrate, I have some questions about periods!

1) I used to know when my period was due because the day before, my boobs and lower back would get really achey- typical PMS stuff. However, for the past 6 months, all that has TOTALLY gone away. Now, without fail the day before my period i start experiencing CRAZY cravings for chocolate. I am 100% sure that there is something biological going on, because i've always relied on my body to warn me that my period will be arriving and i never "expect" the chocolate cravings. 've tried googling it, however, nothing seems conclusive - so, does anyone know what could create a biological need for chocolate BEFORE one's period? I read that choc has lots of iron to compensate for blood loss, but i don't crave chocolate during my period... just in the day or 2 before.

2) another weird period thing.. this happens to me about 6 months out of the year... If i don't have any physical signs, and if i'm too busy to give in to choc cravings, i will have a dream during the night that i've got my period... it will be so crazy situation, like i'll be in a canoe and my period will arrive. Then i'll wake up in the morning, pee, everything's normal.. and like, 2 hours later, my period will show up. does anyone get these weird period-predicting dreams??? i'm really interested because i'm very curious about the connection of the mind ( unconscious, too!) to the body, and have always wondered if anyone else experiences this.

Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say!

Cheers!

Dec. 24th, 2009 @ 08:24 am You Gotta Love How Dolly Loves The Gays!

I'm sure that it's probably not surprising to hear that Dolly Parton supports equal marriage rights for same-sex couples, but it just warmed every last cockle in my heart to see that she feels a kinship with us homosexuals because, like us, Dolly knows how it feels to not be accepted in the "mainstream"--whatever the [bleep] that is.

In my humble opinion, Dolly & God have at least one thing in common: they both (using Dolly's words now) love everybody for who they are. Now that's what I call true Christianity!

Speaking of which, in the article linked above, Dolly gives her opinion on mega-church pastor Joel Osteen's contention that "homosexuality is not God's best," and she does it in her always-loving way.

You'd be absolutely correct to note that, physically speaking, Dolly is loaded up with plastic and silicone topped off with some great fake hair (I'm pretty sure she'd be the first to admit it), but that big ol' country heart of hers? As they might say down south, it's as genuine & as big as all get-out...even bigger than her tallest wig & her world-famous bosom! :-)

Dec. 24th, 2009 @ 01:59 am late pill/spotting concerns
Current Mood: cranky
Hey everyone!

I've been terrible taking my hormonal birth control pills this month and I have a few questions regarding my experience that I'm sure someone here can help me out with :)

Some history: I'm taking the Marvelon-28 combination pill and have been for over a year now.  Generally I've been fairly good at taking my pills within the same 2-3 hour window everyday but due to exam stress/a weird schedule this month I have been about 12 hours late twice.  The first pill I was late with was in my second row of pills.  I took it about 12 hours late and noticed some spotting on my underwear about 2 days later.  This was also the only day my boyfriend and I had sex without a condom during this pack.  The spotting has continued since then.  The next pill I was late for today (6 pills since the first one I missed).  I realized I was late when again I looked at my underwear and saw a great deal more blood than the spotting that had been happenning.
So to recap: I was 12 hours late on both the 5th pill-2nd row, and 4th pill-3rd row.

Here are my questions vajpag:
*what are the chances that missing pills like this could result in pregnancy?  for instance, the official Marvelon instructions don't say that they recommend using back-up birth control after missing one pill... just after two.  Are these two pills close enough together to merit a need?
*I'm assuming the spotting was a withdrawal bleed.. would I be correct to assume that?

Thanks in advance for your help

Dec. 24th, 2009 @ 01:53 am yasmin question
Sorry if this has been asked already.

I am seeing my boyfriend around new year's, but my period is also due then. I am currently taking yasmin and have intentionally skipped my last 3 periods by not taking the placebos and immediately starting a new pack. I hear you're not really supposed to skip more than 3, but I really don't want to have my period when I see him.

The question: would it throw off my cycle or be bad in any way to skip the placebos again this time around, take like 3 or 4 of the pills from a new pack, THEN take the placebos and have my period? I would finish the pack after the usual seven days, then carry on as usual. Am I still protected? Would this throw off my cycle/would I even have a period?

Thanksss.

Dec. 23rd, 2009 @ 07:39 pm Lichen Sclerosis
I'm fairly new to this community (how did I go so long without joining?!) and I'm hoping that someone here is familiar with lichen sclerosis. With as many members as there are, it has to have come up at least once.

It started for me back in the spring of this year. I suspect I've had it much longer though as I've always had an itchy labia but only recently have parts of it turned white. The itchiness got extremely bad this spring and I got a little cut on my labia. (awful) Now I have pretty regular itchiness, the whiteness has improved but not gone away. My ND put me on steroids to control the extreme itching followed by estrace (estrogen) cream. The steroids worked but the estrace didn't do much at all. It may have improved the skin on my labia but not much else. Long term use of steroids isn't recommended so I've stopped. (under my ND's orders) I've read as much as possible about the condition but even most MDs/NDs (even some OBGYNs) don't know very much about the condition. Right now I'm using Emu Oil 2x a day because I heard it works great (my ND seconded the idea) and so far it's helping control some of the itching and healing my skin. I really wish there was a permanent cure. I also wish I knew WHY this was happening to me.

In general I'm very healthy. My only other major health complaint is very serious seasonal allergies. I know that LS tends to run in families and in those with other autoimmune diseases. Neither of those apply to me. I have lots of females in my family and none of them have it. Nor do I have an autoimmune diseases.

As I understand it right now my LS is pretty mild compared to what other women are going through but I worry it's getting/will get worse.

I'd appreciate any advice or knowledge.

Hey all
I have a quick question. I have a small stone in my right kidney. I have had multiple doctor appointments, ultrasounds, to confirm this. Everybody says that it will just pass on its own. However, for the past two mornings I wake up around 6am with back pain and an INTENSE urge to pee. After I pee, I feel better. I take an Advil too. My question is does having a full bladder aggravate kidney stones? And what if anything can I do to prevent waking up at 6am?
Thanks.

Dec. 23rd, 2009 @ 08:49 pm Even with no crime, there is punishment: The sexual double standard between men and women
Current Mood: pissed off
I know this isn't a health issue, but I do think it is vagina related and I would very much like to have a rant.

It is SO unfair that guys can sleep around and as long as they aren't in a committed relationship, no-one bats an eyelid. "Boys will be boys", after all. HOWEVER, when a women decides that she wants to have herself some fulfilling casual sex, it all goes tits up.

I mean, I was always aware of a mythical double standard, but I was in a long term relationship with a guy to whom I lost my virginity. Now, it's the end of my first term of university and I am totally feeling it. I've been reading various articles about it and I can't help feeling trapped between my wants/desires and the expectations of my gender and totally helpless to do anything about it! ARGH! I guess I was naive to think that I could expect someone to respect me, just because they were willing to have sex with me, huh?

So, I'd kinda like to just talk about it, opinions, experiences, advice?

*Sniffle*

Thanks

*EDIT*

Thanks everyone, what's come up so far is really interesting. I think my main problem is I'm trying to have this groovy positive attitude a la vaginapagina, but my own emotions/perceptions/self esteem issues are getting in the way. I'm starting to think that maybe one guy acting like a douche was just one guy acting like a douche, rather than the result of something that was wrong with my behaviour...

Dec. 23rd, 2009 @ 01:45 pm Taking BC early
i see posts like this pretty often, and i know that taking the pill about an hour or so early doesn't mess up your protection level, but how can it affect spotting? i ask because i'm on Loestrin 24 Fe and this is the first month (knock on wood) that i haven't spotted during my active pills. i usually take my pill at 5:30 on the dot - even ten minutes later seems to cause me to spot. i can't take my pill at 5:30 today because i'm picking my boyfriend up from the airport - his plane comes in at 5:27 and you can bet we'll have hugs and luggage to pick up and all that jazz.

if i take my pill at say, 5pm, will it make me effectively "off" for my pill tomorrow and make spotting more likely? i realize that everyone is a bit different but i'd like to see what everyone else has experienced.

thanks!

Dec. 23rd, 2009 @ 01:08 pm New to group
I'm so glad I found this group! I'm a 49 year old female with a history of hormonal problems, and yeast infections. Nothing too serious until a year ago. Last march, I developed a yeast infection that turned into a nightmare! I was literally disabled because of the severe itch that lasted 3 weeks. I hardly slept, lived in the bathtub, and on perscription creams and was on diflucan for two weeks straight. After the 2nd week, they told me that my yeast infection was cleared up and tests showed I had no infections at all. But the itch was worse. Finally went to a dermatologist who diagnosed me with vulvodynia. Gave me 300 mg of nerountin and it worked immediatel! Here is the problem.
I have anothr yeast infection. Went to doc, they put me on diflucan. I took one sat. another on Monday. It's thursday and the itch is worse. I stared the nerountin two nights ago and not help. I even doubled the dose. I"m back to that insane itch, again bedridden, and not sure what to do! I went to the doc on Mon and he said I still had some yeast. (Maybe this is why the neurontin is not working?) Not I have a doc's appointment in Fishkill (an hour from my house) at 8 am tomorrow morning to see a specialist. I don't think I'll be able to make the drive!

I need help PLEASE...Any advise? My doc here doesn't know much about my condition but works with me. any advise you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm dry raw and itchy now. Was wondering if I should put vaseline on, but was told that's bad. The one thing that did help a little bit was benadry. I took two tablets and slept for about 1 1/2 hours. Sorry for rambling, I'm just in a lot of pain, and scared..

Dec. 23rd, 2009 @ 09:51 am Period issue
So you all seem like a wise bunch, and I've been watching this community for months now. I never thought I'd have something to post myself but lo and behold here I am. I apologize if this was answered somewhere, but I can't seem to find anything about it in particular.

I've been on Tri Cylcen Lo on and off for about 2 years. The first year I wasn't sexually active and so it was mainly for irregular periods. I've been on and off it for about 7 months. I took it for 6 months regularly but this time I was sexually active and for the most part it has been really good and I never had an weird side effects. I took it religiously and had no problems with it. I stopped taking it for another 6 months. I am back again and I started my first pack Nov 29. I am on my placebos now and my period should be here on the 26th. I am pretty steady with a 32 day cycle. I've ha mild cramping this week which is normal for me, but I woke up this morning and I was surprised to see a really dark almost black looking blood. I'm super confused because I've never had breakthrough bleeding or, even blood this dark on my period. I've been told really dark blood is just old blood, but does that mean new blood is coming soon? I did have sex on 29th of Nov where my SO did ejaculate inside of me but I was on day 5 of my cycle and wasn't scheduled to ovulate till at least Dec 11/12. Should I be really paranoid right now? or is this a common thing?

Any advice would be really helpful =]

Dec. 24th, 2009 @ 12:53 am Nuvaring for 28 days - when do I put it back in?
Hey guys,

I know this is kind of a beginner's question, but I am pretty new to BC and I just want to be doubly sure that I'm being safe.

Since I'm only on my second ring, I thought I'd post my entire BC history here:

21 Nov: Inserted first ring
12 Dec: Removed first ring, exactly three weeks later. Bleeding started a couple of days after, ended in roughly a week
19 Dec: Inserted second ring, exactly one week later

And that's basically where I am now.

I'm going to see my boyfriend for the first time in a long while on 10 Jan. Unfortunately, the 3-weeks-in-1-week-out schedule prescribes that I remove my second ring on 9 Jan, meaning I will be bleeding when I see him, and that complicates matters, to say the least.

I did some reading up and discovered that you can leave the ring in for up to 28 days, but I have a question about when I should put in my third ring. Should I do it immediately after removing my second ring? Or should I wait a week?

If I remove my second ring on 13 Jan (thereby leaving it in for 25 days) will that eliminate any bleeding between the 10th and 13th? Basically the main goal here is to get rid of any bleeding (be it "period" or spotting) during those days. I know the fact that I'm so new to the ring, and that I'm switching from a 3-week to a 4-week cycle for the first time, has some effect on this.

Thank you! I appreciate any help that's provided.

Dec. 23rd, 2009 @ 10:53 am Not-Period Wonky because of BC?
Current Mood: awake
You guys have probably have had questions similar to this a bajillion times, and I'm sorry for subjecting you guys another one. I've browsed through previous posts, but didn't see anything that quite answered my question. :/

I started birth control for the first time on the 14th of this month (Cyclen 28), which was the first day of my period (which the instructions... instructed). Now, I know it hasn't even been two weeks, but my period hasn't quite ended. My discharge is this light/dull brown colour (which I normally associate with the end of my period) with the occasional spot of bright red blood.

Is this normal? It doesn't really bother me besides being annoying and having to wear a panty liner, but I'd rather it go away.

Any help would be great appreciated.

P.S. I should probably mention that my period is generally 6-7 days long.

Dec. 22nd, 2009 @ 06:12 pm An Odd Question About Safety
Current Mood: cold
Hello all! This is my first time posting here.

Anyways, a guy I once knew said that he put a drop of mint extract on his girlfriend's clit, and it made her orgasm immediately.

I was just wondering if this was possible and, if it is, is it safe to do that?

I know, an odd question. xD

Dec. 22nd, 2009 @ 08:08 pm Sneaky Makeshift Masturbation
I am at my mom's for Christmas, sleeping on the living room couch. I am here for 10 days, all told. And because I'm no longer busting my butt in end-of-semester stress, my sex drive has returned from the grave. (No, it is not a zombie sex drive.) Because of this, it would be kind of nice if I could manage to masturbate some time during this time frame.

Only, I have not enough privacy to do that here. (My mom, yes, is in the room with me now. But she is watching TV, not reading what I type. She would probably notice if I started to jill off, though.) The living room is in the geographic center of a small, sound-carrying house. It is also very visible to other family members getting up in the night. Ain't nothing goes on in this living room but that the whole house knows about it.

So, I am trying to think of ways I can manage this without advertising to the rest of my family, "HAI, AM TOUCHEE TIMEZ NAO!!!" My normal methods of masturbation involve either humping things or vibrators (but not humping vibrators, at least not usually). The vibrator in the living room is, of course, too noisy. Other fun facts, some of which I have only recently discovered:
1) Humping pillows on the couch is also too noisy.

2) The shower is shower-only. There is no handheld shower head, nor is there a traditional bathtub faucet.

3) If I try to masturbate in the shower with my Laya Spot, the hot water runs out before I climax. You can imagine what the introduction of cold water does to my orgasm.

4) Manual stimulation alone -- aka, touching myself quietly under the covers -- does not work for me. I mean, it feels fine, but it's not enough to bring me to orgasm.
Certainly, I can just put on my Big Girl Pants and deal with it until I get back home. But if there's a way for me to get off without alerting the whole house to my self-sexcapades, well, that is preferable.

Your creative input is appreciated.

I ordered some Boric Acid and gel caps.

So I've heard that its messy and that a pad should be worn.  So- how messy is it?  Do I really need to buy pads- or if i'm willing to change my panties would it be ok?

Dec. 22nd, 2009 @ 07:10 am glans
Here is a lengthy, rambling question and I am mostly just feeling it out to see if anyone else has had this problem and if so, what they did. The glans of my vagina has been in pain for months. It's a stabbing, burning pain so that I thought I had a UTI at first. I have been to the clinic THREE times now and she cant find any infection, but shes prescribed antibiotics just to be safe every time and those arent helping. I also took cranberry pills and AZO pills so I know its nothing to do with my urinary tract because none of that is helping. It's just the glans, and it is swollen and just hurts, hurts, hurts. I need to go to a proper gyno, but I dont have the money so I have just been seeing a female doctor at the free clinic here.
I have googled the hell out of it and all I can find is alot of articles about smegma and I am about 100% that isn't my problem.
I can't think of anything that would be behind it, but it did start a few weeks after I stopped birth control (because BC was pointless and I wasnt having sex anyway). But that was about three months ago, so I dont see how that could still be affecting me.

Dec. 22nd, 2009 @ 12:54 am Uva Ursi use? Possible bladder infection? Smell problem.
I've been to the gyno twice. Different doctors both times. Both for a 'smell' problem. The first one diagnosed me with BV, and gave me meds. The smell went away from my vag, but I realized I still had it around my urethra/clitoral area. Doctor said I had a bladder infection, prescribed me meds and the smell completely vanished. Once I was off the meds, the smell came right back.

I waited about four months before going to another gyno. I changed gynos because I went away for college, and he was the only available one. I told him I had been treated awhile ago with BV and bladder infection meds, but the smell was back. He checked me out for both. Negative for BV, Negative for a bladder infection. Sent me on my merry way. I'm not sure if he was wrong or not, but I do think I have a bladder infection.

The smell is a garlicy, acidic, butthole smell almost! Awful. It goes away if I wash around the area in the mornings, but if I go a day without a shower *phew* it is awful! It is only around my urethra and clit area. I believe the bladder infection is back, but I do not wish to seek medical treatment just yet. I would love to try to cure it naturally. How effective/safe is Uva Ursi? How much should I take to get rid of it? Should I drink cranberry juice along with it? Anyone else have this issue?

[Ah. But it doesn't burn when I pee or anything else really. Just a bad smell. The smell has been there probably since I started puberty. ...5 years ago! But I really really don't think it's just my natural body smell. Maybe I'm dehydrated? ARG. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP:)]

Dec. 22nd, 2009 @ 01:50 am Yeast infection follow-up
Hey, everyone at VP. I've been taking Monistat 3, and tonight was the last night for the suppository. I was just wondering how long I'm supposed to wait between when I apply the last dose (~6 pm on Monday) and when I get concerned about seeing final results. Does anyone have any pointers as to how long I should give it before I get concerned?

I pulled out a mirror to check earlier, but when I tried to shift some things around down there, a fairly pure white liquid dribbled out of my vagina - I'm pretty sure that's the medicine, right?

Is it common/normal to not bleed after taking the first dose? The second dose I'll be taking when my husband gets up to go to work. I guess I figured I'd be bleeding by now, but I am not. I'm still breastfeeding my 4 month old twins and haven't had a post partum period yet. Could that be a factor? I'm not really concerned just curious.

Dec. 22nd, 2009 @ 12:08 am Pain during Doggy-style
Current Mood: optimistic
Current Music: golden girls in the background
Pain during certain sexual positions... particularly doggy style. I feel a consistent subtle pain right above the panty line/lower abdomen while we do it. It isn't enough to want to stop but it has been going on for months so my boyfriend is worried. He is afraid we could be causing long-term damage if we continue to have sex in this position if it causes me pain. (I never really complained about it but since it has been going on for a while still he is very concerned.) I figure I just need to position myself differently and I've kind of tried but not successfully.

So I was wondering if we could be causing permanent damage?
And if anyone else has had this problem and solved it using a different position/technique?

Thanks so much!

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 08:03 pm bleeding forever
hey everyone,
i am still freaking out, I have been bleeding since December 7th and it's not my period. I called my doc and she said to get off the pill and start a new pack (yaz, still) when it's stopped. The bleeding is heavy, and my period never is. Sometimes it is clumpy, sometimes not. On and off all day and with pain on my left side (menstrual pain--which i never get when i have my period). Also, the last time I had my pd was 11/20 for a few days. I am worried that this is going on for so long. and it hurts. has anyone experienced this never ending bloodbath before?
:(

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 03:15 pm Double-edge safety razors for pubic hair?
I'm trying to a find razor that will give me a closer shave than a regular women's razor (i.e. Gillette's Venus), particularly one that isn't a multi-blade to avoid the endless rinsing between blades.  It looks like a men's double-edged safety razor might be my best bet, but I'm hoping to hear some reviews from those with experience first.  Thanks!

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 10:54 pm Painkillers in Turkey
I'm about to go off to Turkey for a holiday, and just realised I'm due to be getting some early period pains towards the end of my stay. Does anyone know which painkillers are legal/illegal over there? I usually use Ponstan (mefenamic acid), paracetamol and codeine, but I'm guessing the codeine won't be OK (don't have a prescription as it's available over the counter where I live) and I'm wondering about the others.

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 04:34 pm a couple hbc questions
i've been on yaz for 2 weeks now. I started a week and 1/2 before my natural period would have started.

friday was the day my natural period was supposed to come..now i'm having sluggish spotting and some lumps. is this breakthrough bleeding? if it isn't what would be the technical term?

will i get withdraw bleeding on the inactive pills at the end of my pack still?

also..i was late with my sunday pill and took it this morning..then 30mins to an hr later i swallowed water the wrong way and had a coughing fit..the kind so bad that i ended up puking up some water and phlegm and i assume my pill went along with it.

so i assume my protection is compromised?
(my bf and i have been using condoms or the pull out method until i complete a month on yaz but it's condoms for the next week now!)

thanks vp!

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 12:30 pm Stacking birth control while on an antibiotic?
I am attempting to stack my birth control since I am not exactly down with having my period on my week long vacation in Chicago. However, I have also been on an antibiotic (z-pak) this past week since I've had the head cold from hell. Typically, not stacking, my period would start tomorrow.

What are the odds that I will be successful stacking on an antibiotic? Or is it probable that this will be epic fail?

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 01:55 pm Spotting
I've been taking a monophasic pill for almost two months, never missed one or took it late.

I had spotting in the middle of the first pack and didn't think anything about it since I read it was common.

Now I've taken two weeks worth of my 2nd pack and I'm spotting again, kind of at around the same time.

I did have dull cramps for a few days and am now concerned that I'm spotting because this pill isn't working for me.

On Christmas I had planned to have condomless sex with my boyfriend for the first time and thought everything would be fine since I took the pill correctly. But now I'm concerned.

1)Does THIS spotting mean something more than my body still adjusting to it?
2) On BCP, do you get cramps randomly or over a week before your supposed withdrawal bleed?
3)Are there any other indicators that could tell me that the pill isn't working properly? I thought there were none :(

Dec. 21st, 2009 @ 09:52 am UTI - should I worry?
Thanks to VP, I went to see a nurse for a urine test this morning to see if I had a UTI. All my friends insisted that 'I'd know it' if I had one and I had virtually none of the symptoms - just a very slight discomfort upon peeing and later, pain in my back which I had convinced myself was in my head. Even the nurse said she doubted I had one based on my symptoms, but when she tested my urine, there were white blood cells so she gave me antibiotics. I was pretty shocked, as the symptoms were so mild, I probably wouldn't have even noticed normally. I'm worried about my kidneys now, I explained to her that they felt very uncomfortable and she said not to worry, just to take the antibiotics and go to the hospital if anything got worse. She pretty much said I'd know about it if I had a kidney infection, but then that's what everyone said about the UTI! I'm totally bummed out now. Can't believe I got this on top of my constant vagina problems, and at Christmas as well. I'm gonna have a hard time getting more antibiotics if I need them.
